Thinking is active, Strategic,
How to think. Allow them to come to conclusions by
themselves.
Student forums allow for independent thinking.
Thinking and reading are one in the same.
Strategies
Checking for understanding. Ask yourself Q’s. Creating sensory
images.
Come into class with their own q’s and summary. For
discussion and forums. (through their eyes)
2. Metacognition:
Thinking about thinking. Self-monitoring and
thinking=language development.
Strategies group discussion, breaking things down, think

Affirm to them that they are doing the right thing by

SDAIE example
Something I really liked with an SDAIE strategy was group work with using small white boards. This allowed the students to work in small groups on problems at their own pace. When they got an answer right they held up their board and the teacher would allow them to move on to the next problem. It worked so well in the classroom and kept students engaged!

Plan, Design and Implement
During my 6th period Geometry class I surveyed my students
with an open ended question. The question was, "What do you find the hardest when given a math word problem?" The number one answer that I came across was that the students did not know how to take the words and apply it to an actually math equation. Another issue many students also had was not understanding the vocabulary words that are used in the problem. Lastly, something important that I noticed is the amount of spelling and grammar errors written in there quick write about math word problems. As a teacher this shows me that when it comes to vocabulary and words problems we needs to spend a little more time in order to make sure the students understand what they need to do. These answers are exactly what I would of expected from high school students especially since I am at a school with a large amount of English Learners. With now knowing this information it will help me when I begin teaching. It shows me to spend some extra focus on going over vocabulary with my students and also make sure they are practicing how to change word problems to numbers.

Injustice
If you look closely you can see one projector on the ceiling and on the cart is a second projector and they are connected by a cord. This is due to the teachers bulb burning out in the original projector and they are not able to get her a new one for 2-3 months. So they had to stick this second one in the middle of her classroom
